AliBoo Farm Heads to World Breeding Jumper Championships

Taylor Flury and Carrasca Z will compete in the FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses in the 7-year-old section.

Lanaken, Belgium – September 20, 2017 - AliBoo Farm of Minooka, Illinois, headed to Lanaken, Belgium for the FEI/WBFSH World Breeding Jumping Championships for Young Horses, which takes place September 21-24, 2017. AliBoo Farm is a leader in the United States for breeding and developing young hunters and jumpers, taking two of their top stallions and one mare to compete for a world title.

The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) is a non-profit federation of sport horse studbooks from around the world. The WBFSH generally promotes the common interests of its member studbooks and acts as a representative body for the sport horse breeding sector.  The Championship emphasizes the relationship between sport, breeding and trade and offers the winners world championship titles and prize money. The event includes an inspection, two qualifying jumping rounds and a final round for the top thirty 5,6 and 7 year old horses followed by an auction. All horses must be registered in an approved studbook and are invited to the competition based on qualifying points and available slots per country. The championship usually draws around 175 horses per age group.

Calano Z will compete for the title in the 6-year-olds.

AliBoo Farm will participate in the 6-year-old 1.35m competitions with Calano Z (Calano Z x Calvaro Z), a 2011 Zangersheide stallion owned in partnership with Michael and Michelle Dettelbach of MDM Equestrian in Boynton Beach, Florida.

AliBoo will enter the 7-year-old 1.45m section with Cosmea Z (Calvados Z x Lupicor), a 2010 Zangersheide mare, who was actually purchased during the auction at Zangersheide during this competition as a foal in 2010. Carrasca Z (Asca Z x Calato Z), a 2010 Zangersheide stallion, approved with Zangersheide and BWP, will also show.

Carrasca Z took the 7-Year-Old and Under Championship at the Hampton Classic.

Rider Taylor Flury has just finished some top competition in the states including the Hampton Classic where Carrasca Z took the championship in the 7 year old and under jumper division and Cosmea Z followed with the reserve championship in the division.

Colano Z won the  East Coast Young Jumper Championships for 6-year-olds at Silver Oak.

Flury rode Calano Z in the East Coast Young Jumper Championships at Silver Oak, where he repeated his 5-year-old results by winning the 6-year-olds and also was the only horse to jump clean in all 4 rounds.

The week in Europe will draw several top riders, coaches and investors, who will be looking at the talent that is being developed for the future. Showing in Europe will give AliBoo horses international experience at the very top level of the sport and their business will have an opportunity to learn and experience more in the world wide breeding industry while making valuable connections.

AliBoo’s program focuses on quality breeding lines along with appropriate development for young horses and intends to prove that U.S. breeders can successfully compete with Europe while encouraging development of the breeding industry throughout the U.S.

“Our goal during and after this competition is to keep developing these horses into grand prix horses while also maintaining them as breeding stock,” commented Flury. “Cosmea Z has 2 young colts; one is sold to a client of Jimmy Torano's while next year, Cosmea Z and Carrasca Z will be 8-years-old, so we will be hoping to step them up into some prixs. We are also continuing to develop partnerships and investors with our group of horses to help expand the young horse industry.”

AliBoo has grown tremendously in the last two years. Their original stock is older now and proving themselves in the show ring at the bigger levels (1.40m).

“We have a lot more horses in for training now as people really struggle in the states to find a program that will start them and develop them into rideable and educated horses with solid foundations,” added Flury.  “We have also expanded our bloodlines and breeding program and in fact have 2 horses being presented to Zangersheide for stallion approvals; Calano Z and Fufu Z (3 year old stallion Ferdinand x Casantos) and we are planning to have the KWPN Stallion Committee consider Carrasca Z.”

AliBoo Farm offers breeding, breeding consulting, partnerships, development and young horses for sale. They have turned out top young jumpers in the USEF/USHJA rankings for the past several years and continue to consistently produce quality horses through their program.
