Long Grove, IL, July 18, 2016 – Galway Farm and trainers Lorrie Canady and Molly McAdow announce the Galway Farm Equitation Classic, August 26-28, 2016. The special event was created with the equitation finals at every level in mind and includes a two- day clinic with Diane Carney, the 2016 ASPCA Maclay Finals Judge, and a day to apply the skills in a  Maclay medal format class judged by Carney.

Friday begins with learning the details of the course walk and flat work. Saturday features the jumping clinic day with Carney, offering three groups of riders at heights of 2’6”, 3’ and 3’6”.

Sunday is a real show day with riders in each height participating in the Maclay Medal format of jumping, flat work and a work-off. Carney will then review her judge’s cards with the riders to summarize their clinic experience.

Ribbons, medals, and special awards for Best Turned Out, High Score Flat Rider, Sportsmanship Award and more, will be awarded to riders. Raffle prizes have been donated for the weekend including a three-day pass to the November George H. Morris Chicago clinic, so auditors can get in on the fun as well.

The event showcases the creative services of North Shore Catering, serving fantastic meals during the event such as organic dinner options and a tasty brunch for the show day on Sunday.

“We’ve wanted to do a special event at our farm for a long time,” said Canady (pictured right). “This will be a fun and educational weekend for riders, spectators and auditors. We’re looking forward to having people at our farm, trying out the caterer and really enjoying the weekend in addition to preparing for finals.”

Whether you are heading to the Illinois Hunter Jumper Assoc. Medal Finals, a USHJA Zone final or the indoor finals, you won't want to miss this opportunity to prepare.

Guest speakers are being lined up along with some great vendors including CWD, Cur-OST Equine Supplements and Blue Ribbon Blankets. Galway Farm also welcomes Saddler's Row, Taylor Harris Insurance/Peg McEnroe, Pouwer Patties and Prairie Equine Veterinary Services as sponsors.
