Equestrian Architect John Blackburn Announces Tour for the Launch of Healthy Stables By Design
Blackburn to Donate Author Proceeds to Equine Charities
Wellington, FL- October 2, 2013- Award-winning equestrian architect John Blackburn will tour the country over the next year to celebrate the launch of his soon-to-be-released book, Healthy Stables by Design. Blackburn will travel to many of the farms featured in the book for private signing events. In addition, he will make public appearances at bookshops, museums, equestrian venues and major horse shows. All author profits from the book will be donated to various equine charities.

Sept. 24 - Horse & Home, Landrum, SC – a public book signing to benefit Harmon Field Horse Park
Sept. 27 - Clemson University Clemson, SC – private event
Oct. 10 - Pegaso Farm, Mettawa, IL - private event to benefit the Hooved Animal Humane Society (HAHS)
Oct. 12 - Alls Well Farm, Middleburg, VA - private event to benefit the Middleburg Humane Foundation
Oct. 15 - The Country Bookshop, Southern Pines, NC – public book signing to benefit Prancing Horse, Inc. Center for Therapeutic Riding (a PATH International recognized therapeutic riding center)
Oct. 18 - Glenwood Farm, Ridgeway, SC - private event to benefit Equine Rescue of Aiken
Oct. 20 - Ketchen Place Farm, Rock Hill, SC - private event to benefit PATH International / Wounded Warrior Program
Oct. 22-27 - Washington International Horse Show, Washington, DC - signings and launch celebration to benefit a soon-to-be-announced equine charity
Oct. 29-31 - Alltech National Horse Show, Lexington, KY –book sales to benefit a soon-to-be-announced equine charity
Nov. 6 - Lucky Jack Farm, Rancho Santa Fe, CA private event to benefit a Reins Therapeutic Riding Program
Nov. 10 - The Lodge at Pebble Beach, Pebble Beach, CA private event- book sales to benefit a soon-to-be-announced equine charity
Nov 12 - Private Farm Woodside, CA - private event to benefit CHAPS (Community Horse Advocacy Program)
Nov. 19 - National Press Club Book Fair - Washington, D.C.
Nov. 21 - River Farm Leesburg, VA –private a to benefit The Equine Rescue League (ERL)
Healthy Stables by Design is a museum-quality coffee table book that illustrates Blackburn’s approach to equestrian architecture through dramatic photography and compelling writing.
It introduces the concepts of aerodynamic ventilation, strategic natural light and passive solar heating and cooling into significant horse barn designs ranging from exquisite to functional.
