Buena Vista Farm Celebrates First Year with Success

Buena Vista Farm trainer, Meagan Murray, with Jenna Selati and Fidelia after winning the $1,000 Junior Hunter Classic at Spring Spectacular I.

Buena Vista Farm just celebrated their one-year anniversary since opening their doors.  It’s been a very exciting and rewarding year for the farm!  Everyone is so grateful to be able to work out of the beautiful, state of the art facilities at Hidden Knoll Farm in Wadsworth.  The staff, including Meagan Murray, Colleen Holton, head groom Abel Aranda and his staff, have all contributed to the care and well being of the customers and their horses.

The group enjoyed their first time together in Wellington, FL this winter and came home with such great memories and ribbons!  Murray was also able to find new homes for some sale horses they took.

The farm also hosted an outstanding clinic in April with Sandy Ferrell, which was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed.

Some huge accomplishments accompanied Buena Vista Farm in their first year. Jenna Selati and her beautiful gelding, Greytful, were Champion in the Large Juniors Hunters at the Kentucky Spring Show in May. Selati was also Champion in the Large Junior Hunters at  Spring Spectacular in Wayne, on her lovely chestnut mare, Fidelia.  Selati and Fidelia also were the winners of $1,000 Junior Hunter Classic with scores of 80 and 84.  Selati,17, of Winnetka, IL, attends Lake Forest Academy and trains with Murray at Buena Vista Farm. Murray helped her purchase the Hanoverian, Chestnut mare about a year ago.

“She is a chestnut mare,” said Selati. “But she is one of the sweetest mares I’ve known, She’s easy but takes a certain ride and we finally figured it out.  I’m very proud of her.”

Murray also showed Selati’s horse, Greytful, in the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby at Spring Spectacular and garnished a 7th place.

Also at the Spring Spectacular shows, Jamie Anderluh and Fighting Panda were 1st and 2nd in the Children’s Equitation and won great ribbons in the Children’s Hunters.  Carol Rolfs aboard Lovely, was Reserve Champion in the Older Amateur Adults.  Emily Smith and her pony, Firecracker, were Reserve Champion in the Pony Jumper Classic and Murray was Champion in the Baby Greens on Marilyn Black's young hunter, Rubin Magic!

Still more Buena Vista riders who won top ribbons include Becky Price and Paramount, Jillian Elisha on William Tell, and Cathy Rolfs with Sorin, in the Adult Jumpers.

And last but not least, congratulations to Jillian Elisha on the purchase of her new pony, Paddington!  Paddington will compete in the medium green pony division.

Buena Vista Farm and Murray head to Traverse City, MI next to show at the Horse Shows By the Bay Series.
