Chicago Equestrian Welcomes Galway Farm as New Client

Molly McAdow and Barina

We are pleased to welcome Galway Farm in Long Grove, IL as our new client. Galway Farm, located at 1650 Bernay Lane is conveniently located 20 miles
northwest of O'Hare Airport and 6 miles
north of Arlington Park racetrack. The farm is a full service hunter/jumper training and showing facility providing full training programs, boarding with turnout
and more.

Lorrie Canady, head trainer/owner, had a vision to start and operate an equestrian facility that could cater to the serious show rider but also be a place to help beginning riders get started in the sport. Galway Farm is a friendly, family oriented facility that is a fun and safe environment for all.

Canady has participated in major competitions throughout North America including Wellington, Florida, Ocala, Florida, Lake Placid, New York and Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada.

Canady has also made many trips to Europe to find outstanding horses for Galway Farm riders. These imported horses have been very successful at AA rated shows throughout the country, including the horse Insignia, who she rode to the 2008 and 2009 USEF Zone Horse of the Year.

Recently at the Showplace Fall Classic Horse Show, two of Galway’s horses took the top prizes in the 3’ Pre-Green Hunters.  Charlie Brown was Champion and Barina was Reserve Champion and won the Pre-Green Classic with Molly McAdow riding.

The horses have been on a winning streak with Canady and McAdow, with Barina winning the National Hunter Derby with McAdow at Equifest I.  Barina was Champion in the Pre-Green Hunters both weeks of Equifest and Charlie Brown was Reserve Champion in the Pre-Greens week 1.

Customers of Galway also took home some tricolors.  Nina Donnelly rode Barina to the second place prize in the Novice Adult Hunter Classic and Kaitlin Frei was Reserve Champion in the Modified Children’s Hunters aboard Mirage week 1 of Equifest.

Kylee Twarowski and Roulette 22 were Champion in the Children’s Hunters 15-17 and Kaitlin Donton was Champion in the Small/Medium Children’s Ponies on Helicon’s Bright and Breezy.

Ending the show season with a bang, Galway Farm had two Medal Finals winners at the Showplace Fall Classic Horse Show.  Chelsea Borgeson won the Farnam Adult Medal Final, part of the Marshall and Sterling Midwest Championships, and Mary Beth Canfield was second in the IHJA Adult Medal Final on her famous mount, Insignia.

Mary Beth Canfield and Insignia endured the rain for a second place finish in the IHJA Adult Medal Final.

“We look forward to working with Lorrie’s team at Galway Farm. They have a lot to offer from sale horses to clinics and we are happy to be selected as their marketing company,” stated Chicago Equestrian President, Brenda Mueller.

Lorrie is joined by an excellent and experienced staff of associates that share her vision for riding, training, teaching, and horse care.
