Galway Farm Welcomes Performance Specialist Cathy Penrod as Keynote Speaker

Prepare for Finals with an Educational Weekend

Juniors, amateurs and
professionals benefit from the Galway Farm Classic weekend.

Long Grove, IL, August 9, 2019 –  The annual Galway Farm Classic, September 6-8, 2019 will feature Cathy Penrod, Performance Specialist, as the keynote speaker during the Saturday evening dinner. Always a fun and educational weekend, the dinner includes a festive taco truck with authentic Mexican fare, dining in the awesome Galway event venue and Penrod's valuable information with a question and answer session.

Penrod is a professional Performance Specialist with 35 years of knowledge of the equestrian world and more than 22 years of leadership, mentoring and coaching experience.

Penrod specializes in helping riders break through internal barriers, overcome fear, conquer nerves, and take their performance to the next level using customized programs. Performance coaching is a proven and effective way to bring about extraordinary and sustainable results, especially when it comes to sports and competition.

In addition to learning from Penrod, riders will participate in a two day clinic with USEF Licensed Official Diane Carney, who will set exercises to prepare riders for the upcoming finals.

Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills on Sunday with the Galway Equitation Classic and the Galway Hunter Derby. Carney will offer feedback from the judge's perspective after the classes.

"The two clinic days focus on skills for riding a course, setting pace, finding the proper track, balance for lead changes, and securing riding positions. The competition day presents a whole new awareness of how to succeed in the ring. The opportunity to review the judges cards with the judge helps riders, trainers and parents really understand the sport and how to improve to achieve goals," said Carney.

Auditors are welcome to learn from the clinic and can judge with Carney on Sunday to see if they can match the results. Everyone can enjoy an amazing champagne brunch while watching the classes.

Whether you are heading to the Illinois Hunter Jumper Assoc. Medal Finals, a USHJA Zone final or the indoor finals, you won't want to miss this opportunity to prepare. Talk to Galway owner/trainer, Lorrie Canady about the trainer incentive when you sign up by August 15th!

The clinic offers three groups of riders at heights of 2'6" - 3’6" for juniors, amateurs and professionals.

Past professionals that participated in the clinic gave it rave reviews for the constructive feedback given from the judge. Everyone found the weekend to be helpful for fine tuning horses and riders before finals.
