Lamplight Equestrian Center's July Schedule Includes Young Horse Series and Equifest I and II

Wayne, IL – July 5, 2014 – Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL, is hosting more spectacular events during July. The schedule features The Young Horse Series on July 12th, Dressage on July 18-20th and Equifest I and II July 23-August 3, 2014.

The Young Horse Show Series is designed to provide sporthorse breeders as well as owners, trainers and riders of all disciplines, an affordable show venue to introduce and evaluate their young horses to the show environment. The shows provide an avenue to “put on necessary mileage” with appropriate and special classes suitable to the proper development of young horses.  It is also intended to create a sales environment where numerous young horses are in a single location where their talents can be displayed in front of a buying audience. Sponsors backing the event include Spy Coast Farm, Blue Chip Farms, Footing First, Page Brook Farms, Tequestrian Farms and Aliboo Farm.

The Equifest I and II shows, managed by Allen Rheinheimer, feature a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby each week and the $35,000 Prix de Lamplight on Saturday afternoon each week. The two-week series concludes with the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby along with a fantastic Derby Brunch. One Lucky exhibitor who competes both weeks will win a saddle from sponsor CWD.

Equifest also has exhibitor parties scheduled each Friday on site at the Hitching Post and VIP luncheons Saturday and Sunday both weeks.

Entries for Equifest close July 7th.

Dressage at Lamplight is a level three competition and consists of two separate shows in one weekend. The Dressage events at Lamplight are guided by Lloyd Landkamer, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from events such as the Alltech/FEI World Equestrian Games, USEF Dressage Festival of Champions, the USEF Selection Trials and many more.

Lamplight Equestrian Center has been host to a number of prestigious horseshows including the American Eventing Championships, The Markel/USEF National Young Horse Dressage Championships and the U.S. Para-Equestrian National Championships in addition to countless first-class Hunter shows, Jumper shows, Eventing competitions, Dressage shows and Sporthorse Inspections.

Numerous facility improvements including GGT Footing, make Lamplight Equestrian Center Chicago’s premier horse show facility.
