Stable Begins Season in Wellington

Tiffany Hammack and Cassie Berke's new import Cassini Du Boy took the Championship in the Six-Year-Old Jumpers week 1 at the Winter Equestrian Festival and were Reserve Champion week 2.

Wellington, FL - January 23, 2015 – Lance Williamson Stables traveled to Hungary back in October for a successful horse shopping adventure. How did they decide to go to Hungary? Assistant trainer Tiffany Hammack saw a video online of one of the horses, emailed the sellers and hence, the beginning of the journey.

The group flew into Budapest, Hungary and enjoyed some time seeing the sights along the Danube River. Hammack commented on how beautiful and affordable the Budapest area was and a great spot to vacation. She mentioned the view from their room at the Budapest Marriott was amazing. The weather was around 58 degrees, which is about average for late October there. After touring the city and recovering from jet lag, the trip moved on to the horse shopping.

Their expedition led them to the town of Miskolc on the northeast side of Hungary. The farm there was a family business in existence for over 70 years and had about 200 horses on a large plot of grassy land. The owners generously hosted trainer Lance Williamson and his group, providing a translator, meals and nine or ten riders to show horses all day.

The meals were fresh from the farm and included classic Hungarian dishes as well as chicken, fresh from the backyard!

The horses arrived in the states in early December and were released after their quarantine at Arlington.

“It was really cool,” said junior rider Nicole Loochtan of Hawthorn Woods, IL, about the experience.

Loochtan brought home two horses, a nine year old to be her new junior hunter and a four year old to bring along. Loochtan also rides In Your Dreams and Game Over in the junior jumpers.

Cassie Berke, 29, of Gilberts, IL, purchased six horses as investments from videos Williamson sent her while they were in Hungary. Berke met Williamson when she went to look at a horse for sale at his farm for a friend. They started talking about how Williamson brings horses over from Europe and Berke was interested in getting involved.

Berke has always loved horses but when she met the mare she currently owns, Mi Dolce Vita, she was hooked. Berke owns three horses she calls her “pets” and now has the six investment horses and has them all in Wellington.

“This is all new to me,” said Berke. “It’s been an adventure so far so I’m just going to see where it goes. I love the horses! After a hard day at work you can go to the barn and walk out a new person!”

Williamson’s trip has already proved to be a success as some of the new stock are already winning top ribbons at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Berke’s new Cassini Du Boy was Champion in the Six-year-old jumpers week 1 and Reserve Champion week 2 with Tiffany Hammack aboard.

Berke’s Ducati, won solid ribbons in the Performance Hunters showing as a hunter in the U.S. for the first time.

Hammack and Luminous kicked off the season with some solid wins in the 1.25m jumpers.

Hammack and Luminous have been collecting the blues in the 1.25m and 1.30m classes out of over 100 horses. Right behind Hammack was Grace Knox and Tilikum, taking the second place spot in the 1.25m.

Nicole Loochtan and Game Over took the low junior jumpers by storm.

Hailey Royce and Rapidash won a Children’s Jumper class in the pre –circuit and Loochtan and In Your Dreams and Game Over were winners in the junior jumpers.
