What You Didn't See at the WEG

With all the excitement at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, some of the little moments can easiliy be lost. Thousands of people saw the Individual Show Jumping Rounds where McLain Ward and Sapphire made an astonishing performance to move from 26th place to 7th, and only one of four to be double clear.  But what few might have seen was a moment of unselfishness and love of the sport that McLain showed after the Victory Gallop.  Ward pulled up the lovely Sapphire in front of a young girl clapping on the rail, pulled off his blue ribbon from Sapphire's bridle and handed it to the little girl.  A ribbon that many of us would bronze and put on our trophy shelves, was given to a young admirer, which probably made her young career!  Thanks to our photographer, Stephanie King, for capturing  this touching moment you didn't hear about.  Our hats are off to McLain for the inspiration he gives the industry.
