IHJA Horse Person of the Year, Lisa Goldman, and Pat Boyle Presenting
The highlight of the show season is always the Year End Banquet. Everyone loves the opportunity to dress up, receive awards and get together with fellow horsepeople. Each year there are a few special awards in addition to the division awards. This year, the Northern Illinois Hunter Jumper Association awarded Alexis Bumbar with the Horse Person of the Year Award. Other special NIHJA awards included the Junior Spotsmanship Award which went to Krisit Hohol and the Amateur Sportsmanship Award which went to Brenda Perkovitch. For 2011, ChicagoEquestrian.com ran a Hunter Derby series on the NIHJA circuit and awarded Emily Chapman the Leading Junior Rider Award and Jessica Ocheske won the Leading Amateur Rider Award. The Leading Horse was Bentley, owned by Donovan Mueller. The Illinois Hunter Jumper Association was pleased to honor Lisa Goldman as Horse Person of the Year. One lucky student, Natalie Geist, won the IHJA $1,000 scholarship. Congratulations to all the award winners and best of luck for 2012!
