Minooka, IL – January 16, 2015 - AliBoo Farm started off 2015 with a bang at the Lake St. Louis Horse Show, January 7-11th, where Taylor Flury and her very special mount, Role Model, won the $25,000 Grand Prix.  In addition, AliBoo Farm had five out of five of their young horses jump double clear in the Five-year-old jumpers.

It was a very special win for Flury and Role Model, aka Taylor (Roc USA x Flying Pidgeon x Great Above). A year ago, Flury thought the horse would never show again. In September 2013, she tripped jumping a small oxer at home and injured her knee. Numerous veterinarians said she was done and would be lucky to live out the rest of her years in the pasture relatively pain-free. The Flury’s did not give up on her.

“This mare is truly a miracle horse; she just keeps proving everyone wrong and accomplishing more and more,” said Flury. “She has a heart bigger than the planet and she always tries her heart out for me.”

“This was her third show back since she got hurt,” continued Flury. “When I walked the course, I thought it was big, especially for an indoor. She hadn’t jumped a course since November because our indoor is small. It was definitely the biggest track she has jumped around, with big square oxers set right out of the corners. My only goal was to be double clear and for her to have a confident ride. Little did I know that a double clear would win the class!”

Role Model is one of the horses AliBoo Farm raised, making the Grand Prix win all the sweeter. Role Model was USEF National Horse Of The Year in 2011 in the 5-year-old young jumpers and 2012 in the 6-year-old young jumpers.  The horse was named after Taylor Flury in 2006, when Flury had to go through several brain surgeries after being diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. Nancy Whitehead had several babies born that year and named one after Taylor due to their friendship.  When Flury started her breeding program, Whitehead gave her the horse to use as one of her start-up brood mares. Flury decided to put Taylor into work and pursue embryo transfers so the mare could show.

AliBoo Farm also had five other young horses that jumped clean in the Five-year-old jumpers, including their stallions Diamant d’Heure ABF (Diamant d’Semilly x Rio Grande x Lord Incipit), Carrasca Z (Asca Z x Calato), and Vuvuzela Z (Vagabond de la Pomme x Casantos). Two mares, Catania Saflo Z (Chippendale Z x Landor S) and Cosmea Z (Calvados Z x Lupicor), also put in clean rounds.

AliBoo also showed Denise Wilson/Blue Gate Farm's five-year-old Corcovado BG (Chapultepec x Namelus R) and earned a blue ribbon in the five-year- old qualifier. AliBoo started him for Wilson last year, one of the services AilBoo offers.

AliBoo Farm’s success comes from their daily dedication and passion to their horses. The farm specializes in the breeding, training and development of young horses for the competition ring.
