Young Horses Have Stellar Track Record

Halifax, MA - August 19, 2015 – AliBoo Farm took top honors in the young jumper divisions at the beautiful Silver Oak Jumper Tournament in Halifax, MA this past weekend. The horse show boasts being one of the North American Riders Group’s (NARG) top 25 Horse Shows in 2013 and 2014 and is one of the few shows featuring a grass ring.

AliBoo Farm, Minooka, IL, took home the Style Award in the Five-Year-Old Young Jumper Classic with their breeding stallion, Carrasca Z (Asca Z x Calato). The Young Jumper Style Award is part of a new program called Classic Champions developed by Cynthia Hampton, founded on the successful European system.  The course designer was Michel Ismalun, a former winner of the Five-Year-Old Championship in Fontainebleau, France. Ismalun’s wife, Damaris, a three star international jumper judge, was the judge for the Style Awards.  Each horse is scored on canter, rideability and jumping style on a scale of 1-10 in each category. The style score is combined with their score from the course for the overall score. Carrasca Z scored 8.5, 9 and 9 in the categories, giving them the highest overall rating for the win.

In addition, AliBoo’s Calano Z (CalatoZ/ Calvaro Z) won every class in the Four and Five-Year-Old division and Cosmea Z (Calvados Z x Lupicor x Haarlem) won every class in the Five-Year-Old section. All of AliBoo’s young horses jumped clean all week.

“I could not ask for them to be any better,” said rider Taylor Flury. “It was actually their first time jumping on the grass ever anywhere so I was very happy with how brave they were and how they just keep answering all the questions, especially the 4-year-olds because it was only their third horse show. I’m really lucky to have this great group of young horses this year. It’s fun to really start to see how they’re going to turn out. They have all been very consistent and try their best every time out.”

AliBoo Farm and the Flury/Bali family are carving their spot in the Young Jumper world, spending countless hours researching breeding and breeding programs in Europe to develop their own line of champions. With great success, they have established a program that works and are creating a stellar track record in the process. AliBoo Farm found all of these horses as weanlings or in-utero foals and started and developed them to this point.

Last year at the Young Jumper Championships at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, AliBoo Farm had eight of their young horses qualify for the series final. Diamant d’Heure ABF (Diamant de Semilly x Rio Grande), a then four-year-old Approved Stallion, won the first ever Perpetual High Point Best American Bred Horse Trophy. Carrasca Z was the first horse to receive a perfect score of 10 in any class at the Young Horse Show and was the High Point Horse in both the Jump Chute Division and the In-hand Division.

In the USEF rankings, AliBoo Farm’s horses hold 5 of the top 12 rankings in the USEF Five-Year-Old young jumper rankings for 2015, with Catania Saflo Z in the first place slot, Diamant D’Heure ABF is ranked 3rd, Cosmea Z is 4th,  Carrasca Z 5th and Vuvuzela Z is ranked 11th.

In the Four-Year-Old Jumping, Calano Z and My Pride Z (Mylord Carthago x Eurocommerce Berlin) are first and second in the standings.

All of AliBoo Farm’s young horses are currently qualified for the 2015 Young Horse Show Series Finals, which will again be held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center November 6 – 7th.
