Open House Planned for Introduction of Premier Stallion Rubinero

June 10, 2014 – Burr Ridge, IL -- Just when you thought summers in Chicago couldn’t get any better, Dressage Gold Medalist Rick Rockefeller-Silvia is back in town with his world renowned Dream Street Stallions at Legacy USA Equestrian Center in Burr Ridge, IL.  Dream Street Stallions, in conjunction with Equine Imports, LLC owned by Dawn Bernardo, import the most desirable sport horse bloodlines from Europe and offer breeding, sales, dressage training and stallion campaigning services.  After spending the winter months in Wellington, FL, the team has relocated for the summer months to Burr Ridge at the lovely 40-stall facility. At Legacy USA, the team will prepare the stallion, Rubinero for global competition, which could include the 2015 Pam American Games in Toronto, Canada, and an invitation to represent the US at the 2017 FEI World Cup and 2018 FEI World Equestrian games. Legacy USA is located about 30 minutes from Chicago and offers full service care, training and every amenity an equestrian could dream of.

The Dream Street Stallions owner, Rockefeller-Silvia, has studied under several of the world's top FEI dressage trainers, most notably Karin Rehbein and Reinhard Neilsen of Gestut-Groenwohldhof, as well as Olympic bronze medalist, Lisa Wilcox. He established Dream Street Stallions in 2005 with the goal of bringing the best European sport horse bloodlines to America. He started his program with his own two stallions, Lullaby and Starlight. On Lullaby, he competed at the National Young Horse
Championships in Lexington, KY (FEI 6 year old, 2006), with a result in the top ten. Lullaby also won numerous Prix St. Georges classes in Florida as a 7 year old, and placed 8th in the country at the Developing Horse National Championships in 2007.

In 2007, the stallion, Starlight, had a record-breaking year-end score (86%) earning him a place in the USDF "Hall of Fame", and Rockefeller-Silvia became the youngest owner in US history to do so. That same year, he ranked 8th Nationally in the USEF
Grand Prix standings. The following year, he won the highly coveted title of "Grand Champion" at Dressage at Devon with Starlight, further signifying his successful contributions to equine breeding programs in the US.

In 2010, Rockefeller-Silvia showed Sakramenter to the High Score Circuit Champion in the Inaugural Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida.

Dream Street Stallions is currently standing the impressive stallions, Rubinero and Deperado. Desperado is by Dream of Glory, Germany's 1999 best Young Stallions dressage sire and PSI Auktionen Stallion of the Year, and his grandsire, Donnerhall, is known as “the most successful dressage horse in the world.”  The 11 year old, 17.1 hand Austrian warmblood stallion is the former mount of German Olympic Dressage Medalist Isabel Werth.  Rockefeller-Silvia recently won the Intermediare-I aboard the premium stallion.

Rubinero is a 16.3 hand, 14 year old black Hanoverian by Rubinstein x Ex Libris x Furioso II. Rubinero did his 70-day Stallion Performance Test in 2003 in Neustadt/Dosse, Germany and finished third overall with an index of 133.12 and was the reserve champion for dressage with an index of 140.54 and received a 10 for readability.

In addition, Adult Amateur Bernardo and Rubinero had an exceptional show February 1-2, winning the Wellington National Show Prix St. Georges with a 67.763%. They won blue ribbons yet again during the CDI 4*/3* February 6-9, in the Adult Amateur division FEI Intermediare I classes on Thursday (60.396%) and Saturday (62.10%).

Rockefeller-Silvia’s impeccable eye for equine talent and bloodlines brings these dream stallions right here to Chicago.

“The presence of Rubinero and the credentials of Rick Rockefeller-Silvia in Chicago is huge," says Jennifer Moskal of the Burr Ridge training facility.  “Finally Chicago has rare access to international talent, training and coaching which until this summer has been limited in our area.”

An Open House is scheduled at the Legacy USA Equestrian Center from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2014 to honor the arrival of Chicago’s newest equestrian celebrities.  The gala event will include a special presentation of the black stallion Rubinero with Rick Rockefeller-Silvia.  The stable is located at 16 W 325 91st Street, Burr Ridge, IL 60527, about 30 minutes from Chicago and only one minute off of I55.
