Perfecta Farm Show July 30 – Aug 2, 2020
Elgin, IL – July 24, 2020 – Perfecta Farm in Elgin, Illinois will host their annual Illinois Hunter Jumper Association (IHJA) B show July 30 – August 2, 2020 at Ledges Sporting Horses in Roscoe to raise funds for the Midwest Dachshund Rescue (MDR). This year will be no exception, although it may look a little different due to the pandemic, as Perfecta Farm plans to set a record for their fundraising.
Trainer Kim Gardiner has been a supporter of the rescue for about eight years and has fostered numerous dogs for the rescue as well as adopting. Gardiner is hoping to hit $10,000 this year to help the rescue with the large number of dogs they have, many from the recent puppy mill raid in West Tennessee, where over 300 dogs were rescued.
“Many of the dogs were emaciated and pregnant,” said Gardiner (pictured right). “They have eye infections, ear infections, parasites and skin infections. It takes at least $500 a dog in veterinary expenses just to start to nurse them back to health. That’s why we’re really committed to reach our goal this year.”
Previously, Gardiner held a raffle and silent auction during the horse show for amazing gifts and packages that were donated by numerous friends of Perfecta Farm. Spectators are not allowed at the event this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions, so they are taking the fundraiser online.
 Once again, fabulous prize packages have been donated to the raffle and all you have to do is simply purchase some raffle tickets for $20.00 each. Tickets will be drawn on Sunday, August 2nd and you do not have to be present to win. In addition to the fundraiser, Perfecta Farm, Gardiner, and trainers Mara Kranz-Olseng and Carmine D'Aversa will put on a fabulous horse show for exhibitors with amazing prizes, plenty of championships, and fun competition. Special awards include Best Child Jumper Rider, Best Adult Jumper Rider, Leading Trainer Award, Leading Professional Rider and the Sportsmanship Award. Competition includes classics for just about every division and a Grand Hunter Champion Award.
