Professional Hunter Divisions Wrap up at Showplace Fall Classic Championship

Molly McAdow and Eileen won the Championship in the Performance Hunters 3'3"

Wayne, IL – September 11, 2014
– The professional hunter divisions wrapped up as unseasonably cold weather moved into the Chicago area at the Showplace Fall Classic Championship at Lamplight Equestrian Center. Show manager Patrick Boyle makes the highly anticipated fall championship a favorite of many exhibitors with fantastic awards, beautiful courses and a most memorable medal finals day. The show is the host of the Illinois Hunter Jumper Association’s (IHJA) medal final competition and the Midwest Marshall and Sterling Championships.

Freddie Vazquez rode CR Moet to the Performance 3'6" Hunter Championship.

Performance Working Hunters jumped around Boyle's beautifully landscaped derby-like hunter courses for the championship ribbon. In the Performance 3'6" Working Hunters, the champion was CR Moet, owned by Kira Tilford of Chicago, and ridden by Freddie Vazquez.  Reserve champion went to Presently, owned by Mark Senn of Chicago, with Jodi Vazquez aboard.  Both horses placed first and second in Wednesday's classes and CR Moet was first and third over fences today to clinch the championship.

Jodi Vazquez took the Reserve Championship in the Performance 3'6"  Hunters on Presently.

Winning the second class of the day was Ashleen Lee and Speak Kindly owned by David Waimon of Winnetka, IL, and Ryan Sassmannshausen was second in both classes today with Sangria Sky, owned by Keely Bieniak of St. Charles, IL.

In the Performance 3'3" Working Hunters Molly McAdow rode Lorrie Canady's Eileen to the championship. There was a three-way tie for reserve between Alexandra Episcope's Playboy ridden by Lauren Schone, Dudley Smith's Expecto Patronum with Melissa Hirt and Louisa Brackett with her Aluminum Overcast.

Ashleen Lee and Speak Kindly won the handy round in the 3'6" Performance Hunters.

McAdow rides for Galway Farm in Long Grove, IL, and trainer Lorrie Canady. Galway Farm horses were winners in the Pre-Green hunters, as well.

"Pat does such a nice job at his shows," said Canady. "The courses are always nice, the jumps are beautiful and he does a super job with the presentations for the bigger classes such as the medal finals.  Our riders always enjoy coming here."

"The cold weather made the horses a little fresh today but they were all really good," said McAdow. "The horses have been here before so they are used to the rings which helps. Eileen is really catching on and she's turning into a really nice horse. The pre-green horses have had a great year. They got some great mileage and even did a few derbies. It's been fun bringing them along."

Champion in the Pre-Green 3'3" Hunters went to Jewel with Haylie Jayne Rolfe aboard. Reserve champion and the $500 Pre-Green Classic win went to Charlie Brown, owned by Lanie Bricker and ridden by Molly McAdow.  McAdow was also reserve champion in the Pre-Green 3' Division on Sir Gustafson, owned by Becky Mati. The champion in the Pre-Green 3' Hunters was Virtual, owned by Golden Oaks Farm and ridden by Rachel Johnson.

Champion in the $500 First Year Green Working Hunters was Cynthia Bulwicz's Cyril with Kim Barone. The pair also won the $1,000 Open Hunter Classic. Reserve went to Alessio, owned by Samantha Wolf and ridden by Freddie Vazquez. In the Second Year/High Performance Hunters it was Maggie Jayne and Pony Lane Farm's A Million Reasons who took the championship and Russell Frey rode Debbie McIntyre's Cavalli to the reserve championship.

Competition continues with Junior and Amateur Hunters and the weekend highlight of the $30,000 LUXMAX USA Grand Prix on Saturday and the popular Barrington Saddlery Medal Finals on Sunday.
