from USHJA

According to the Office of Federal Student Aid, annually more than 13 million students across the country qualify for financial aid and even more are attending higher education institutions without financial support. Each year, USHJA Zone 5, in collaboration with the USHJA Foundation, offers its members a $10,000 scholarship that may be used for college, trade or professional school, and the deadline for this scholarship is fast approaching on July 1

Interested applicants must be Zone 5 members who attended a minimum of three years of high school in Zone 5 and will be evaluated based on their academic achievements and financial need.

USHJA Zone 5 invites members to apply by July 1 for the USHJA Zone 5 $10,000 Scholarship, which can be used for college, graduate, trade or professional school.

Interested applicants must be current USHJA members who have been accepted to a college, graduate, professional, or trade school and be entering the 2016 fall semester as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior and have attended a minimum of three years of high school in Zone 5 (IL, IN, KY, MI, OH), but may be attending college anywhere in the United States. Also, applicants must be able to demonstrate a financial need and be ranked in the top 20 percent of their class or hold a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Only one $10,000 scholarship is awarded each year. Last year, Dyani Sabin of Oberlin, Ohio, was awarded the scholarship. USHJA Zone 5 offers this scholarship to encourage equestrians to pursue academic excellence.
